The legal team for Cameron Douglas, son of actor Michael Douglas, has laid the blame on their client’’s ‘dysfunctional upbringing’ for his “serious heroin addiction”.

Defense lawyer Dan Gitner tried to convince a Manhattan court that Cameron’s drug and emotional problems were the result of “notoriety that is not due to any acts of his own but by dint of birth and a difficult upbringing.”

The attorneys apparently suggested Cameron’s parents” absences and rocky marriage were at fault for driving the 31-year-old to substance abuse.

“He has been sort of a reckless person since he was really young, endangering himself constantly. Not violent, just screwing up in every way – car accidents, motorcycle accidents, tattoos. I think a lot of it had to do with who his parents are,” the New York Daily News quoted his shrink, Dr. Robert Millman, as testifying at the hearing.

Defense lawyer Nicholas DeFeis added: “He didn”t benefit from his celebrity. He was hurt by it in a variety of ways, including ways in this case.”

Cheryl Cole has reportedly given in to cheating husband Ashley’s barrage of text messages and decided to meet him.

The Girls Aloud star announced their separation after the soccer ace was alleged to have cheated on her with four other women, in addition to exchanging racy text messages and photos with another girl.

The Chelsea footballer was said to have continued bombarding the singer with pleas to give him a chance and save their four-year marriage.

“Ashley has been texting her non-stop and Cheryl has tentatively agreed to see him,” The Mirror quoted a source as saying.

The source added: “Cheryl’s really in two minds about what to do but she believes it is right they should meet like adults to discuss what’s happened. She can’t keep ignoring him forever.

“Her friends are worried he could still win her back. Even though she’s furious about the way he’s behaved, no one’s convinced she’s totally over him. At the moment she’s still quite hurt and confused.”

Former Page 3 girl Maddy Ford, who became a make-up artist and stylist after her modelling career ended, was said to have confessed to the secret affair with the singer.

“How do you know? Please don’t tell anyone, he made me promise to keep it a secret. I am so scared it’s all going to come out and everyone will know. We’ve had to be really careful,” The Daily Star quoted her as saying.

A source close to Andre added: “It was just sex. They didn’t have a relationship. Peter always made it very clear to Maddy what it was. He’s a red-blooded male and has done nothing wrong.

Andre was also said to have denied the alleged affair linking him to Maddy.

He said: “She’s not my girlfriend, she’s my stylist. The reason there are whispers is because of the way she looks and people jump to conclusions. Most stylists are quite attractive, to be fair, and it’s really hard to avoid being linked to them.”

She’s joined in an upsurge in popularity by blonde Swedish beauty Erin, who golf superstar better half Woods categorically denies she hit him with a golf club when she found out he’d been playing around earlier this year.

Erin is said to have jetted off to an unknown location after he begged for forgiveness live on American TV last week.

Marie Osmond’s 18-year-old son, Michael Blosil, has died, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

“My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time,” Osmond said in a statement through a family spokesperson.

Blosil’s death is currently under investigation, according to the Los Angeles Coroner’s office.

Osmond has eight children and Blosil was one of five adopted by Osmond and ex-husband Brian Blosil before the couple divorced in 2007.

Music industry chiefs are said to be fuming over British Government’s plan to ban sexy pop videos featuring stars like Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Shakira, Sugababes and The Saturdays.

They fear the move could wreck sales of CDs and downloads as well as wipe out a string of TV music channels such as MTV and VH1.

Under the proposals, such videos will only appear after the 9pm watershed.

The move comes after an official report by a top psychologist warned that the videos show women as “decorative objects” and turn girls on to sex too young.

One of the worst offenders is said to be Spears’ Baby One More time vid, in which she dressed as a sexy schoolgirl.

Dr Linda Papadopoulos, who produced the report for the Home Office, said little girls are being drip-fed damaging images from music videos and channels which encourage them to see themselves as sex toys under male control.

“There is a tendency to view women as objects and accept aggressive attitudes and behaviour,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

“The images lend credence to the idea that women are there to be used,” she said.

But Paul Nicholas, 45, who runs an independent music label, does not agree.

“It’s crazy. The vids are just a bit of fun. They are great entertainment and help boost the economy,” he stated.

The report also recommended that lads’ mags should not be sold to anyone under 15.

“Changing attitudes will take time but it is essential if we are going to stop the sexualisation that leads to violence against girls,” Home Secretary Alan Johnson added

‘Poker Face’ singer Lady Gaga has revealed how an ex-boyfriend of hers had told her that she would not amount to anything as a pop singer.

Gaga, 23, real name Stefani Germanotta, has had enormous chart success since she launched her career last year.

“I had a boyfriend who told me I’d never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song, and that he hoped I’d fail,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as telling America’s Cosmopolitan magazine.

“I said to him, ‘Someday, when we’re not together, you won’t be able to order a cup of coffee at the f***ing deli without hearing or seeing me’,” she added.

Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp has nothing but praise for his co-star Angelina Jolie.

The two are starring together in the movie ‘The Tourist’, but Depp revealed that he was very impressed with her.

“I had never met Angelina before, but I found her to be a real treat, I mean a real doll,” the Mirror quoted him as saying.

“She is a nice woman, serious about what she does and loves her man and loves her kids. I was very impressed,” he added.
