Oprah Winfrey has got ‘Precious’ star Gabourey Sidibe in mind for her date to the 2010 Academy Awards
Sidibe told People that Oprah, herself, had offered her a lift to the Oscars.
“Oprah called me and was like, ”Hey girl, do you want to ride together?” I was like, ”I got it Oprah, calm down. I don”t want to show up with you. People will think we”re too cool,” the New York Daily News quoted Sidibe as saying.
And it’s not that the 26-year-old nominee for Best Actress wouldn’t love to be with the talk show queen. Sidibe said that she just hasn’t got used to sharing the spotlight with the likes of Oprah, just yet.
“She’’s the only person that I”m continually star-struck by. When I meet people I get used to them very quickly because everyone seems like a friend because I watch them on TV. But Oprah is the only one I can”t get used to,” she said

Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole is said to have finally spoken out after keeping mum ever since she announced her split from her footie ace hubby Ashley.
Cheryl, 26, who was in Copenhagen before her appearance on Danish X Factor, revealed that she was rocking.
“Everything’s good. I’m okay. I’m rocking it,” the Mirror quoted her as saying.
“I’m enjoying myself. I’ve been looking forward to the show and hope everyone enjoys it. If there’s a party I’ll be there. That’s what it’s all about.
“I’ll show you my moves don’t you worry,” she added.

Katie Price a.k.a. Jordan is set to dish out all the dirt on her ex-husband singer Peter Andre in a sexplosive film of her life.
Jordan, 31, who is in LA for the Oscars, has already held talks with a top Hollywood producer to tell all about 37-year-old Andre’s saucy secrets and the real reason behind their split.
The film would be about Jordan’s brush with child sex abuse, her rollercoaster rise to the top, her marriage to the pop star and what happened as their marriage fell apart amid rumours of affairs and an abortion.
“Kate’s had an amazing life and a film would be dynamite,” the Daily Star quoted a source as saying.
“It would have everything – love, sex, passion, heartbreak and tragedy.
“If it is packaged as fiction it would give her even more licence to reveal everything. Pete must be quaking in his boots,” the source added.
The action-packed film would also cover Jordan’s Vegas wedding to Alex Reid, 34, and detail her string of famous lovers.

Music mogul Simon Cowell is said to have bragged that he is ‘a nine out of ten in bed’.
Cowell, 50, who has just got engaged to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy, boasted so in an interview on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories on ITV1.
He is also said to have declared his love for Hussainy on the show, telling Morgan, 44, ‘she is the one’.
“She’s very special. You know when you’ve found somebody very special,” the Sun quoted him as saying.

Keira Knightley is all set to face her stalker and testify against him in court.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actress will give her testimony against Marek Daniluk, a 6ft 6in Pole, at his trial, magistrates heard yesterday.
According to reports, Daniluk, 4, grabbed Knightley, 24, outside the Comedy Theatre in London, where she is starring in ‘The Misanthrope’.
He is also accused of sending her unwanted gifts and letters, reports The Daily Express.
However, he denies “conduct that amounted to the harassment of Keira Knightley”.
Daniluk, of Palmers Green, north London, was bailed until June on condition he does not go near Knightley or the Comedy Theatre.

Hollywood legend Meryl Streep has revealed that sleeping through her law entrance landed her in showbiz.
The acclaimed star, who has 16 Academy Award nods, winning two, and 25 Golden Globe nominations, winning seven, to her credit, revealed she did not intend to pursue acting full time and wanted to pursue a legal career, Showbizspy.com reported.
“I loved it, but I thought it was frivolous,” the Daily Telegraph quoted the Oscar winner as saying.
“I remember thinking, ”OK this is stupid. Oh yeah, you’re going to be an actress, sure. I”m going to do something serious with my life. I’m going to be an environmental lawyer”.
“Then I slept through the law school admission test, so I took it as a sign from heaven to stay in drama school,” she added.

Independent Spirit Awards, Independent films have been honored at the 
25th Film Independent Spirit Awards which was held on Friday, March 5. “Precious: Based on the Novel PUSH by Sapphire” has once again proven itself as a great work as it took prizes in all five categories that it was nominated for.
“Precious” star Mo’Nique was among the early winners that night, picking up the Best Supporting Female kudo. She later shared the joy with co-star Gabourey Sidibe who was named Best Female Lead. Landing the coveted Best Feature award, the drama also led its director Lee Daniels and screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher to grab Best Director gong and Best First Screenplay kudo respectively.
Also collecting multiple awards that night were “Crazy Heart” and “A Serious Man”. The drama musical came out as the winner in Best First Feature category and aided its actor Jeff Bridges to win Best Male Lead award. The comedy, in the meantime, grabbed Best Cinematography kudo and Robert Altman Award.
