MUMBAI INDIA : Bollywood star Aamir Khan, whose recent release `3 Idiots’ took a critical look at India’s education system, says that he gets inspired by stories of real-life heroes who go beyond their limitations to bring change in one’s life and in society.
“When I see real heroes and listen to their stories, it really inspires me. I think we have, in different degrees, strengths and abilities,” said Aamir presenting an award at the Real Heroes Awards of CNN-IBN and Reliance Industries Limited here on Wednesday.
“When we use our abilities and strengths to better our lives, that’s normal but when you use your strength and abilities to help others, you become a real hero,” he added.
Twenty-four real-life heroes from across six regions in India were shortlisted and their work classified into categories such as Women’s Welfare, Social Welfare, Health and Disability, Youth Education and Children and Sports.
Ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was present on the occasion and received a standing ovation before he gave away the award in the Sports category.
“Real heroes are not ordinary people, they are extraordinary people. They haven’t got anything, but they still have the courage to go through all the obstacles, find the solutions and they are selfless. They don`t have any expectations. All they want is to see smiles on the faces of people around. We should get inspired from them,” Tendulkar said.

Jack Neo Press Conference, Beleaguered Jack Neo, who was rocked by a series of sex scandals since last Saturday after his mistress alerted the media of his sexual exploits, finally broke his silence on the saga.
The press conference venue at was already swarmed by reporters from both SPH and Mediacorp 10 minutes before it began.
As the media waited in anticipation, Jack Neo’s manager went on stage and reminded everybody present that this will be the one and only press conference given by Jack and here will be no further comments on this matter. There will also not be a Q&A session much to the disappointment of the crowd.
“Dear friends of the media, thanks for your concern over the last few days. I would like to stress that all that had happened is solely the fault of mine and does not involve anybody else. I feel very fortunate today that my wife has forgiven me.”
Halfway through the press conference, Jack Neo broke down and cried.
“My wife has suffered more pain than any woman in this world. I am very sorry for what has happened. This is my last time speaking to the media.”
“I do not know how to handle the media…..All I want to say is that I have forgiven Jack. I treasure Jack Neo, my marriage and my children. I have been hurt alot. I ask the media to let us off and give us some space and your blessings. Thank you,” she cried.
The press conference ended abruptly before it began. As Jack and his wife left the stage, the journalists rushed to surround them for further questions which caused a stir when members from Jack’s production team shouted at them to leave the couple alone.
Jack’s wife was reported to have fainted upon leaving the press conference.
A father of four, Jack is arguably Singapore’s most famous and successful movie director with a series of award-winning films such as “I not stupid” and “Run children!” under his belt.
The sex scandal has gripped the attention of the entire nation as Jack Neo is a familiar figure with many Singaporeans with his landmark “Comedy Night” in the 1990s.
He is also awarded a PBM in 2004 for his grassroots volunteer work and a Cultural Medallion in 2005. A PAP member himself, he is rumored to be close to Foreign Minister George Yeo who jumped almost immediately to his defence, calling on Singaporeans to rally around him.
While guys are more tolerant of his misadventures – a survey done by Lianhe Wanbao revealed that 75 percent of the men polled are willing to forgiving him, many women are disappointed and disgusted by hiss infidelity and vow to boycott his films from now onwards.

All of the fashion shows of Stella McCartney sparkle even more as stars appear as her guests. In her recent unveiling of the unique clothes in Paris, you can also see a lot of celebrities showing how they support the designs of Paul McCartney’s daughter.
During the 2010/2011 two-season show of Stella, Paul McCartney was so proud of her daughter that he also took the time to strut at the catwalk and thank the fans of the 38-year old designer. With Paul is his partner, Nancy Shevell. Paul’s presence at the shows of Stella is only one of the ways how they display their strong family ties.
But it was not only the Beatles musician who was present at the said event. There are also other familiar faces including the first lady of California – Maria Shiver and her daughter with Arnold Schwarzenegger – Christina. Both of these ladies said that it was their first time to attend a show in Paris.
Twiggy, the infamous front woman of Marks and Spencer was also present at the said event. This is not to support just the designer but more so, to support Carly (her daughter) as well since she is a part of the design team of Ms. McCartney.

Lady Gaga is releasing her Monster Ball tour in 3D for DVD.
A representative for Gaga’’s Interscope Records label told MTV.com that the singer is planning to use the latest technology to make a DVD recording of her stage performance even more lifelike.
“There are talks about a 3D concert and DVD in the near future,” the Daily Star quoted the rep as saying.
It makes sense as the singer gave away a set of 3D glasses with the release of her ”The Fame Monster” album package in December, along with a message saying they would be useful for “things happening soon”.

Gerard Butler, Elaine Paige and Sir Michael Caine were among the big names who flocked to the world premiere of Love Never Dies. The musical at London’s Adelphi theatre by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber is the sequel to his 1986 hit The Phantom of the Opera.
Set ten years after the original, the story finds the Phantom after his mysterious disappearance from the Paris Opera House. Lloyd Webber created the production with the help of comic and writer Ben Elton, who fine-tuned the synopsis. Early reviews have been fairly savage, with one theatre blog renaming it “Paint Never Dries.”
Musical legend Lloyd Webber is ignoring the online hype. He said: ” If everybody worried about those, you’d go back to the days of Cats, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera – if there’d have been the net then, you’d have almost given up. At the Phantom of the Opera we had one night when the chandelier didn’t move.”
Love Never Dies is set to open in New York later in the year and in Australia in 2011.
