A man who was reportedly connected to Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen’s death shot himself after police attempted to serve a search warrant at a Los Angeles hotel where he was staying.

As per the Los Angeles times, the man whose, identity and link to Chasen were not known, shot himself to death.

Sources informed investigators believe he was involved in her death, reports the New York Post.

Chasen was shot on November 16 after attending the premiere of the new Cher film ‘Burlesque’, the soundtrack of which she was pushing for an Oscar nomination.

The 64-year-old was shot inside her car before crashing into a lamppost near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Whittier Avenue in Beverly Hills.

Simon Cowell has reportedly chosen David Hasslehoff as his replacement on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.

The former star of ‘Baywatch’ and ‘Knight Rider’ has been offered a 500,000 pounds deal and the American cult figure, 58, is said to be ‘really looking forward’ to the auditions, which starts next month.

Hasselhoff was picked as he has the experience of being a judge on America”s Got Talent, the US version of the wannabe show. He was dumped in January over his notorious drinking antics after appearing in four series.

But Simon, who had no say in that decision, sees him as an ideal replacement when he stands down to concentrate on the US version of X Factor.

A source close to The Hoff said, “David was delighted to receive the call as he really enjoyed his time on America”s Got Talent,” reports the Sun.

“He is popular in the UK and loves the country, so for him it is a dream opportunity. You might say it”s ironic Simon asked David to replace him after he was dropped in America. But they are great pals and David is really looking forward to the auditions,” he added.

Former BGT judge Piers Morgan has also bailed out after being signed as a chat show host by US news network CNN.

However, a BGT source said, “We are talking to David Hasselhoff. Nothing has been finalized.”

Jessica Simpson has revealed that she wants her wedding with ex-NFL player Eric Johnson to be ‘simple.’

“We have not started planning,” People mag quoted Simpson, 30, as saying during NBC”s Christmas in Rockefeller Center live telecast Tuesday night in New York City.

“I personally have no idea. I have not set a date and I can”t even think about putting together like table settings and all that. We”re just going to enjoy the engagement and we”ll get married the moment we feel like it.

“By next Christmas, hopefully … we don”t have any plans but I”m pretty sure by next Christmas we”ll be married,” she added.

In an interview with Bono and Bush at the latter’s Dallas, Texas, office, the singer spoke of how the former president took charge of the issue.

“Even people who are snide and snarky about the United States of America have to admit that millions and millions of lives have been saved by American taxpayers,” Fox News quoted Bono as saying.

“Being effective was the thing we had to prove — that there could be measurable results.

“That if American taxpayers were going to fork out for this historic AIDS initiative that somebody like me could come back years later, which I have, and say, America, you’re saving 5 million lives.

“It’s an extraordinary thing that you have done,” he added.

The president’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) was launched in 2003, with 15 billion dollars pledged over a five-year period.

Former glamour model Katie Price has been handed a six month driving ban after she was spotted speeding at 83mph in her Land Rover.

Price, formerly known as Jordan, was fined 1,000 pounds and given three penalty points after she admitted breaking a 70mph limit on the A23 in Pyecombe, West Sussex, on December 10 last year.

This took her over the 12-point limit and brought an automatic six-month driving ban, which will leave her family life in chaos.

Crawley Magistrates” Court, Deputy District Judge Ken Goldspring read her the penalty.

“That makes her a ‘totter’. She’s received 12 or more points and so as of today she is banned from driving for six months,” the Daily Mail quoted the judge as saying.

It means the mother-of-three, who lives in Woldingham, Surrey, will not be allowed to drive her children Harvey, eight, Junior, five, and Princess, three, to school.

Defending 32-year-old Katie, lawyer Robin Sellers said she had been trying to escape paparazzi photographers when she was caught on a mobile speed camera in a police car.

However, Judge Goldspring said that she has a history of over speeding and “The paparazzi weren’t prosecuted for speeding. That’s the real story.”

A statement produced by Sellers on behalf of Price read, “Katie accepts that whilst attempting to distance herself from paparazzi who were pursuing her (and about whose actions she had just notified the police) she was guilty of speeding.

The producers of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” have had Lindsay Lohan on their wish list of castmates for a very long time, according to sources.

Radar Online reports that the producers are eyeing the actress as a potential contestant for the show’s next season.

Sources said that producers were concerned about Lohan’s erratic behavior but have noted the progress she has been making at the Betty Ford Center, reports the New York Post.

She is currently undergoing a court-ordered drug rehab program until at least Jan. 3, 2011 after violating the terms of her 2007 DUI probation.

According to sources, the producers were also aware that Lohan would be available due to her departure from “Inferno,” an upcoming biography of 1970”s porn star Linda Lovelace.

Actor Johnny Depp has revealed that Disney bosses were initially uncomfortable with his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’, with one person asking if the character was a gay.

“They couldn’t stand him. They just couldn’t stand him. I think it was Michael Eisner, the head of Disney at the time, who was quoted as saying, ‘He’s ruining the movie’, ” The Daily Mail quoted him as saying in an interview with Vanity Fair.

It appeared the 47-year-old actor decided to have a bit of fun with Disney executives, who were used to releasing clean-cut, family-friendly entertainment.

Depp recalled a conversation with the bosses where he was asked: ‘What”s wrong with him? Is he, you know, like some kind of weird simpleton? Is he drunk? By the way, is he gay?’

“And so I actually told this woman who was the Disney-ite… ‘But didn”t you know that all my characters are gay?” Which really made her nervous’,” he added.
