X Factor co-judge Cheryl Cole has been named as one of the 50 most powerful women in film and television this year.
Cole, 27, joins the likes of on-screen talent like Dames Maggie Smith, Julie Walters and Helen Mirren as well as bosses of TV stations, filmmakers and writers.
Judges of the prestigious annual list said that she has been recognised for the part she has played in making the talent show one of the most successful ever on British screens.
“She is probably the most famous woman in the country right now,” the Scotsman quoted judges as saying of the Girls Aloud singer.
“Cheryl Cole has gone from reality show contestant to fashion icon, platinum-selling recording artist and X Factor judge in the space of eight years.
“Highly influential, the former footballer’s wife is now considered the nation’s sweetheart. A genuine superstar,” they stated.
Trade “bible” Broadcast, whose editor Lisa Campbell said the industry was still harder for women than men, revealed the full list of 50.

Singer Katy Perry lips were bejewelled with 150 Swarovski crystals as she posed for Harper’s Bazaar limited-edition cover.
Perry, 26, who appeared in the December issue of the mag, was “covered in 150 ruby-coloured Swarovski Elements”, the New York Daily News reported.
Alexi Lubomirski had taken the close-up picture, though the original cover featured a wider shot of the singer in a silver dress with her smile covered in nude lip-gloss.
The Swarvoski cover is a limited edition but also available digitally, with a behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot.

Actress Ashley Greene has said that she is indifferent about marriage, and also revealed why she feels so.
Greene, 23, who is best known for playing Alice Cullen in the ‘Twilight’ movie series, is currently dating singer Joe Jonas, 21, of the Jonas Brothers band.
“I’m indifferent about marriage,” Us magazine quoted her as telling Cosmopolitan.
“I think sometimes people get married so they can say they have that person forever, but a ring doesn’t ensure that you’ll stay together.
“Watch, now that I’ve said that I will be the first of my friends to get married!” she stated.

Actress Neve Campbell says she is dealing well with her marriage breakdown.
”The Scream” star filed for divorce from actor John Light in June (10), citing irreconcilable differences for the split after three years as man and wife.

The 37-year-old beauty is turning to her loved ones for support as the seasonal holiday approaches.
She said, “Spending time with my family and friends, I”m really looking forward to that this year.”
