Amitabh Bachchan has played many diverse roles in his 40 years long acting career. Now to add to this assortment the actor will be seen essaying the role of the Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

The mega star has been roped in by Argentinian filmmaker Pablo Cesar to portray the poet- writer- philosopher on the big screen.

Throwing light on the same, Cesar said, “We have got financial backing from an Argentinean film association. And we plan to approach Amitabh Bachchan in Mumbai who would recreate Rabindranath Tagore’s encounter with Argentine writer Victoria Ocampo on the silver screen.”

Cesar plans to name his project ‘Thinking Of Him’, which were the last words Ocampo mentioned in the telegram she sent to his family after Tagore passed away. The film will be partly period and partly set in modern day and will be shot in Kolkata, Shantiniketan as well as in Argentina.

Amitabh to essay the role of Rabindranath Tagore

Imran Khan will be seen essaying the role of an architect in Dharma Productions’ forthcoming flick ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’.

The film’s first look which was unleashed on Wednesday is garnering a lot of attention. The rom- com is directed by Shakun Batra and has Kareena Kapoor paired opposite the young actor.

When questioned why the title has been changed from ‘Short Term Shaadi’ to ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’, Imran said, “That wasn’t even our working title. So, there was no way we could have changed it. Halfway through the movie, I read in the papers that the film’s working title was Short Term Shaadi. That was odd because everyone on the sets knew it wasn’t the case.”

On being asked if there is any connection between his last release ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ and his forthcoming movie, he informed, “The previous one was about me finding a bride for my brother, who is perfect as a groom. No girl would ever refuse him and move on to his younger brother. And eventually, it’s to be seen whether the younger brother ends up with her. In this case, my marriage with Kareena is just the beginning of the movie. It triggers off the story, which moves into different situations and emotions.”

Imran also revealed that he drew some inspiration from his real life to fit into the character of a married man. He added, “It’s been a year of marriages for me: one real and two reel ones. The time when Avantika and I were in the US, we had started living in together. So, we spent that time trying to understand each other. Today, we know what to expect of the other in a given circumstance.”

“Similarly, even our characters in EMAET try to figure out each other’s likes, dislikes and ways of thinking. It’s a slice-of-life film with romance and comedy in it. So, having been in a relationship helped me understand the character better, as it’s also the first time I’m playing a married man on screen.”

Imran takes inspiration from his own life

Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan’s newborn kid has remained hidden from public view ever since she was born. People are scrambling to get hold of their daughter’s pictures but to everyone’s disappointment the Bachchans have refused to show the world a peek of the baby as they feel it is a personal thing.

Now the spice is rolling that like the Hollywood stars the Bachchans could also sell some shots of the newborn girl.

The grapevine has it that foreign media is also trying to get hold of the pictures and have even offered the Bachchan family a mind boggling sum of money which is nearly touching a crore.

However, contrary to the buzz that surrounds, an insider revealed that the Bachchan household is not at all interested in selling the snaps of the new addition of their family.

“It can be remembered that there were rumors of the Bachchans even selling the photographs of the very private marriage ceremony of Aishwarya and Abhishek. But the Bachchans didn’t do any of that and proved them all wrong. This time, too, people are speculating, but it’s highly improbable that the Bachchans will sell the rights of these,” a source said.

Karan Johar who watched the special screening of Ekta Kapoor’s ‘The Dirty Picture’ was left awestruck by Vidya Balan’s performance.

He showered mountains of praises on the south Indian beauty saying that Vidya has set a supreme standard for the current lot of actresses.

Expressing his admiration for the reel life Silk Smitha, K Jo posted on his Twitter handle, “Her performance in ‘DIRTY PICTURE’ is by far the bravest and best performance I have seen of any actor in years….she is the benchmark.”

“Every mainstream actress needs a grand lesson from Vidya Balan on how to submit and give your head and soul to a role…she is beyond words,” he wrote.

The prolific filmmaker even appreciated the director of the movie Milan Luthria. He tweeted further, “Take a bow team Balaji!!! Super film!!! Rajat’s brilliant dialogue…Milan’s nuanced and superb control over the plot…dirty picture rules.”

Well, it seems Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh have become the hottest jodi of Bollywood. Filmmakers, one after the other are signing the two in their forthcoming movies.

The duo after sharing the screen space with each other in ‘Band Baaja Baraat’ and ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ will be seen together once again in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’. Earlier Aamir khan was in the running to take on the male protagonist’s role but Ranveer was finalised instead.

‘Bombay Velvet’ which will be produced by ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ director Danny Boyle is based on a series of real life city based stories.

Sridevi re-entering Bollywood is a stale piece of news now but what is interesting is that the top actress will be seen sharing the screen space with Amitabh Bachchan after almost 2 decades in the comeback film.

The duo that was last seen together in 1992 hit ‘Khuda Gawah’ has reunited for Gauri Shinde’s next project ‘English Winglish’.

Talking about the movie, Amitabh posted on his Twitter handle, “Shooting today with the effervescent Sri Devi after eternity almost .. for R Balki’s wife’s directed film English Winglish. Sri Devi still the same .. spontaneous and lovely ..!! Gauri, R Balki’s wife .. directing film .. woman power at peak .. my second experience .. eventually women will take over the world !”

In the film, Sridevi will essay the role of a housewife, who enrolls for a spoken English course to impress her husband and family. Amitabh will be seen making a special appearance in the film.

Leaving his cool dude aura behind, Imran Khan is now ready to take on the dusty roads of villages.

The young actor who has mostly played urbane characters in his films will undergo a complete makeover for Vishal Bhardwaj’s next venture ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’. He will be adopting a raw and unpolished look for the film.

“Imran will be seen wearing a kada in his wrist and basically will be seen in a desi avatar” revealed a source.

Imran who bagged the movie after Ajay Devgn opted out of it will be paired opposite Anushka Sharma in it. Rumors are abuzz that the ‘Delhi Belly’ star has been asked to increase his weight by about 15 kgs to fit into the character.

On the sets of Sajid Khan’s forthcoming comic caper ‘Housefull 2’ people found an absolutely different Asin. Says a source close to her, “She is very friendly by nature and likes to mix with the unit and sit and eat with them while shooting rather than sit in a corner or stick to her van.

She has even made her own set of friends in Mumbai and is seen enjoying their company especially over weekends. She feels when you are working with people you need to be friends, too.”

Lastly Shahrukh Khan was seen wearing silicon and Styrofoam made superhero suit for his film ‘Ra.One’, now it is Kangna Ranaut’s turn to slip into a cat- woman type bodysuit.

The chirpy actress who is turning a mutant in Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Krrish 2’ will be seen wearing a fancy gear (similar to what Pop Singer Lady Gaga adorns) in the superhero flick. Reportedly, Kangna has even lost 5 kilos to fit in it.

According to a source, “Kangna Ranaut’s designer Gavin Miguel has sourced a plastic-like material from the US for her character’s costume. One of the teams sourced to make the outfit for her in Krissh also stitches Lady Gaga’s costumes.”

Slipping into the bodysuit will be a complex procedure for Kangna. She will have to apply special oil on herself to be able to wear it, revealed the source.
