Fish Leong Wedding, Singer Fish Leong has revealed plans to marry fiance Tony Zhao in an island wedding in January.
The wedding banquet is scheduled to be held in Taiwan sometime in May with fellow-singers Penny Tai and Tanya Chua set to be her bridesmaids, Taiwan media reported.
The Malaysian-born Leong originally wanted to hold her wedding on the island of Boracay where around 50 relatives and friends were to be invited. The bridegroom was also prepared to bear all expenses including accommodation and flights estimated to be worth S$100,000.
But due to the recent storms and floods in the Philippines, the couple is now considering either Okinawa or Guam as an alternative.
The couple had earlier denied reports that they had secretly registered their marriage. While Leong did not express any comment, Zhao had called it a “misunderstanding”, saying that only their parents went through the registration procedures.
He explained that they were trying to understand the procedures themselves and emphasised that they have not registered their marriage.
As for rumours that Leong was getting hitched due to her pregnancy, Zhao said, “We just had champagne and red wine a few days ago, how is that possible if she was pregnant?”
