Last day, Chris took Baylee to get a bath at the groomer down the street & when she became at home she saw tottally silly because she was floofy and frizzy! Jackson’s investiture ceremony in the New Zealand capital Wellington — his home town and business base — installed him as a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
“I feel incredibly humbled and the truth is, making movies is not a solo effort — it involves hundreds of people, thousands of people, so I feel as though I’m accepting it on behalf of a huge industry,” Jackson told reporters.
Jackson said the honour was different from winning an Oscar, and meant a lot more in some ways because of the tradition and the history involved.
The hugely successful “Lord of the Rings” trilogy won a total of 17 Oscars, including best picture for the final instalment “The Return of the King”, for which Jackson also won the best director award.
The 48-year-old director, whose most recent film was “The Lovely Bones”, was appointed a knight in a ceremony conducted by Queen Elizabeth II’s representative, Governor-General Anand Satyanand.
Jackson’s knighthood was announced at the end of last year as part of New Zealand’s annual New Year honours.

DHAKA : Bangladesh on Tuesday abandoned an attempt to lift a ban on the screening of Indian films in cinemas following furious protests by local actors and directors.
The government announced just three days ago that a four-decade-old ban on movies from Bollywood, neighbouring India’s vast entertainment industry, had been lifted in a bid to boost audiences at Bangladesh’s struggling cinemas.
But demonstrations by home-grown stars and studio heads claiming that the country’s film business would be swamped by big-budget Indian movies prompted a swift policy U-turn.
“The commerce ministry has decided to re-impose the ban on the import of films from the sub-continent, including India,” the ministry’s senior information officer Faizul Haq told AFP.
Pirated DVDs of Bollywood films are hugely popular in Bangladesh but cinemas have been banned from screening them since 1972, a year after the country’s independence, to protect the local film industry.
Actors and directors held a rally on Monday and submitted a plea to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who assured them that her government supported the nation’s movie makers, her spokesman Abul Kalam Azad told reporters.
The number of cinemas in Bangladesh has slid from 1,600 in 2000 to 600 in 2010, with the diet of low-budget local films and discreet English-language soft pornography clips failing to draw viewers.

LONDON : Acclaimed filmmaker James Cameron’s oscar winning 3-D sci-fi epic ‘Avatar’ has beaten ‘The Dark Knight’ to set up a Blu-ray record as consumers snatched 1.5 million copies of the movie on the day of the home video release.
A total of 4 million copies (including Blu-ray) of the movie were sold on the first day itself, reports contactmusic.com.
The previous Blu-ray record was held by “The Dark Knight” with 600,000 copies.
While some analysts had wondered whether home video sales of the movie would take off without a 3-D element, reviewers Thursday praised the overall look of the film on the small screen, several using the term “gorgeous” to describe it.
In Britain’s Guardian newspaper, critic Gordon Mackie wrote that the DVD release “still feels like an event without that third dimension. It’s very much a James Cameron movie, for better and worse.”
“Its visual splendours are many. But Cameron movies come with his own dialogue so it’s only the visuals that stay with you, and you sometimes feel bludgeoned with his none-too-original green, antiwar message writ large,” he added.
